Appearance[]

Milermore birds are large wading birds, standing roughly five to six feet tall, with long, slender legs that allow them to move elegantly through wetlands and riverbanks. Their elongated necks give the species a regal and statuesque presence. Plumage across the species is predominantly pearly white with subtle iridescent highlights that shimmer in sunlight, sometimes showing hints of pale blue or lavender along the wings and tails. They are three types of milermore birds in this list.

The species has a wingspan of up to ten feet, allowing silent gliding over water and marshlands. Each bird features a small crest on its head, raised when alert or performing ritualistic dances, and sharp amber eyes, which give the flock an almost uncanny awareness of their surroundings. Their long, slightly curved bills are suited for probing mud and shallow waters, while their strong, webbed feet aid in swimming and silent wading.

Behavior[]

Milermore birds are highly social within small flocks but can also be seen alone while foraging. They are most active at dawn and dusk, performing elaborate ritualistic dances that involve stamping their feet, bowing their heads, and rotating rhythmically. These dances, accompanied by melodic calls, can mesmerize nearby creatures, calming them or drawing their attention. The milermore is migratory, traveling long distances to locate optimal wetlands. Despite their stupidity associations, milermore birds are intelligent and cautious, usually avoiding humans. Pairs within the flock form strong bonds, performing synchronized dances that strengthen social cohesion and are essential to mating displays.
