Mythical bestiary Wikia

Jellips are tiny, wobbling being-like beasts shaped like cheerful jelly turtles. They come in many bright flavors and colors, each with a glossy, translucent shell that jiggles when they move. Jellips are widely loved for their gentle nature and irresistibly cute appearance.

Appearance[]

Jellips appear as a tiny, jelly-based turtle with a smooth, wobbling body. A glossy, translucent shell sits on top, shaped like a dessert mold and often tinted to match the creature’s flavor; if jellips want to hide, they hide by sinking low and flattening their jelly body (their heads, limbs, and tails) inside of their shell until they resemble a harmless dessert shape. Soft skin, four short squishy limbs extend from the base, each jiggling softly with every movement, short tails, and small rounded head with big black button-like eyes peeks out from beneath the shell, giving the being a gentle, innocent expression. Many jellips display cute dessert decorations, such as whipped-cream swirls, glossy syrup drips, fruit pieces, sparkling sugar flecks, etc,. Colors vary widely; such as pink, strawberry red, purple, lemon yellow, mint blue, chocolate brown, apple green, banana beige, and more—each shade glowing faintly when the light passes through the jelly body.

Behavior[]

Jellips are naturally calm friendly beasts with soft curious personalities. Their behavior is peaceful and non aggressive and most individuals prefer to avoid conflict by hiding or staying still. When feeling safe their colors appear brighter and movements become more energetic and bouncy. Social behavior is common and small groups often gather together for warmth comfort and security. Jellips are born through a natural jelly forming process rather than eggs. During cool nights rich in moisture a sweet jelly mass slowly solidifies on the ground and after several hours a fully formed baby jellip emerges. Newborn jellips are very small and nearly transparent and remain close to the birth site for the first few days. A single birth event usually produces between two and six baby jellips. The exact number depends on environmental conditions such as humidity temperature and available sweet food. Baby jellips grow slowly and reach full size after several weeks. If you want a pet jellip, the jellips are easily domesticated and adapt well to gentle caretakers. In domestic settings their personalities become more playful and affectionate. A well cared for jellip follows routines recognizes familiar voices and shows attachment by staying nearby. Domestic jellips prefer cool shaded living spaces and become stressed in dry or hot environments.
