The Gleipnir (glayp-neer) is a special magical rope/ribbon that people craft in order to tie up/bind something.
Description[]
A gleipnir takes the appearance of a rainbow-colored, tulle/silken ribbon.
Effects[]
Despite it’s rather fragile appearance, the gleipnir is one of the strongest substances known. Because it is made of seemingly impossible things, the more the subject struggles, the longer, stronger, and more tangled the rope becomes.
Ingredients[]
- The sound of a cat’s footfalls-Cattus vestigiis.
- The beard of a woman-Mulier barbam.
- The roots of a mountain-Radices montis.
- The breath of a fish-Respiratus pisces.
- The vitality of a bear-Ursus vitale.
- The spittle of a bird-Avis ex sputo.
Process[]
- Turn each of these into a thread, by saying the ingredients in Latin, then intoning the incantation “Factus filum”.
- Use the incantation “Convolvas fila pariter” to weave the threads together.
