Baku are a race of beings that originate from the country of Japan, but have now spread worldwide.
Appearance[]
Baku are essentially human/tapir hybrids, having a mostly humanoid appearance, but with tapir snouts, short tusks, tapir-like legs/feet, tails, eyes, and fur all over. However, baku fur tends to be a light blue color, with purple cloud/spiral-shaped markings along their backs.
Behavior[]
Baku are a peaceful race, and they prefer not to attack unless provoked. Baku feed on dreams, however, they prefer nightmares over good dreams, as they believe that people deserve good sleep. However, this puts them at odds with nightmares and boogeymen alike. Similar to humans and many humanoid beings, baku mate for life, and females usually give birth to one young at a time, however, multiple births are not unheard of.

- Tusks: Baku are able to use their tusks as weapons, if need be.
- Healing: Baku are able to restore other biotic organisms to their optimal health.
- Dreamwalking: Baku are able to enter the dreams of others.
- Oneirovorous: Baku can absorb the dream energy of others as food.
- Dream manipulation: Baku are able to control and shape the dreams of others, though this power is limited compared to sandmen and boogeymen.
- Fear masking: Baku are able to draw upon supernatural reserves of courage and fearlessness. These reserves of courage are so powerful that they can influence others nearby.
- Tapir communication: Baku are able to communicate with and command tapir.
